Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The postholder will become part of the wider team of research nurses, practitioners and doctors at the Anne Rowling Clinic. On some of the non-patient facing days, the postholder would be encouraged to work in Edinburgh to engage with the team and become immersed in the wider portfolio of studies and learning/training opportunities. At other times, there will be regular online contact with the Study Manager and other research nurses.

FutureMS is a major longitudinal observational cohort study that is following the MS journeys of 440 people across Scotland. The present post is to conduct the 10-year wave of this study in Glasgow. FutureMS is funded by the Anne Rowling Clinic, University of Edinburgh, and the Scottish Government.

For this role you must be a qualified nurse who has right to work in the UK for 3 years from your start date. You must have some experience with clinical research and be confident to lead – with some degree of independence - on the delivery of this study within the infrastructure of the CRF and the support of senior Anne Rowling Clinic staff. This job requires Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) Registration and Level 2 Disclosure Check.

Although you will be employed by the University of Edinburgh, salary will be matched to the equivalent band in the NHS. The post may be amenable to a secondment from the NHS; this can be discussed with the successful candidate if required.
