Research Project Manager in Respiratory Medicine
We are pleased to invite applications for an experienced Research Project Manager to support Respiratory Medicine research studies at Wythenshawe Hospital. The position is funded by the Northwest Lung Centre Charity for a 12-month period.
Academic Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester is a large and vibrant community. Our PIs work across airways, infection and inflammation, lung cancer and cough. There are a number of cross cutting themes such as biological timing, exacerbations, pollution, biomarkers and mathematical modelling. Our mission is to deliver world leading translational respiratory research across the lifespan, engaging our community, and enabling us to train the next generation.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth management of the programmes of research and the production of deliverables and milestones, on time and within budget. The post holder will work effectively across complex research organisations, ensure timelines for projects are met and instigate change as required; use specialized knowledge to advise on funding strategy; be able to take initiative where necessary; identify and breakdown tasks required for a multidisciplinary research group project; delegate and assign tasks to others.

The position will allow the post holder to build on existing project management skills to support projects that have the potential to deliver clinical impact. The post holder will need to work with minimal supervision and have experience within research, preferably in biological or medical sciences.
