Location: Cambridge, UK (3/2 Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Build the Future of AI at Samsung

At Samsung AI Centre Cambridge, we're developing the next generation of intelligent systems that power AI experiences across millions of Samsung devices worldwide.

Our team combines world-class research with real-world impact, creating state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms and systems that are efficient enough to run directly on consumer devices. From on-device Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs) to world models, adaptive inference, and mobile AI systems, we're tackling some of the most exciting challenges in modern AI.

We're looking for a Research Scientist who is passionate about advancing machine learning research while helping bring breakthrough innovations to Samsung products.

What You'll Do

As a Research Scientist, you'll contribute to cutting-edge research that bridges foundational AI and practical deployment.

You'll:

  • Research and develop world models that enable AI agents to understand, simulate, and reason about complex environments.
  • Design and execute experiments at the frontier of machine learning and model-based AI.
  • Develop novel algorithms for efficient AI, including on-device LLMs, VLMs, and adaptive inference.
  • Collaborate with researchers and product engineering teams to translate research into commercial technologies.
  • Publish at leading international conferences and contribute to patent applications.
  • Help shape the future research agenda of Samsung AI Centre Cambridge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
