Senior Analyst – Research (GB Market) – Oxford, UK

About the Department

Location: Oxford, UK

Aurora’s Research department is seeking a results-oriented Senior Analyst to join our analytics and client-facing services team, focusing on the GB market and based in our Oxford office.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in analytical roles within Research, Advisory, Software, or Modelling, who have a strong foundation in market analysis in the GB market or other regions. The role offers the opportunity to engage with leading stakeholders and contribute to Aurora’s best-in-class modelling and strategic insights.

You will be part of one of Aurora’s most successful and high-performing teams, working on policy analysis, market dynamics, and investment economics across multiple sectors. Our clients include leading British and international organisations in the public and private sectors, actively shaping the future of the GB market.

Your role will provide mentorship by experienced team members in Oxford and allow you to grow into a market expert, delivering high-impact analysis to top clients and contributing learnings to Aurora’s global research team.

  • Conduct analysis and research to support Aurora’s market insights and strategic perspectives
  • Monitor and interpret policy developments relevant to the GB market
  • Work with Aurora’s proprietary modelling tools to develop forecasts and scenario-based insights
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to a wide range of clients, both in-person and online
  • Contribute to Aurora’s publications, including reports, briefing notes, and client communications

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Attributes

  • Experience in analytical roles within Research, Advisory, Software, or Modelling
  • Proven ability to organise and manage their own time
  • Proven ability to interpret and derive insight from complex quantitative data and information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and co-operate effectively with both technically and non-technically minded people
  • Self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset, and desire to grow the business

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in power markets (in the GB market or in another context)
  • Experience working on financial markets or project finance
  • Demonstrated success in working with clients
  • Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, Advanced Excel)
