Salary: £27,319 to £30,378 pro rata

We are seeking a committed Research Support Assistant to provide technical support for a Canadian Institute of Health Research funded project. The post will be based in the Moulsecoomb campus, at the University of Brighton. You will have the opportunity to work directly on this project, undertaking sample processing for proteomics analyses.
Duties
Duties for this Research Support Assistant will include but are not limited to:
- The preparation, processing, and storage of samples for nLC-MS
- nLC-MS Analysis
- Preparing reports on the analysis conducted
- Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory
- Ordering chemicals and supplies
The Successful Candidate Will Have / Be
- Experience in biomedical science or related field and preferably with understanding of analytical techniques
- Experience of working within a laboratory environment with competent laboratory bench skills.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Computer literacy - knowledge of Word and Excel is preferable.
- Self-motivated

The post is part-time funded for 1 year, however we do have some flexibility in the duration and hours worked, which can be mutually agreed within the requirements of the project with the successful applicant. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work on campus.
