About Scotland's Edge
Scotland's Edge is a new observational documentary series currently in development by Just Connor Films. The series aims to celebrate the people, communities, businesses, landscapes and heritage of Campbeltown, Kintyre and the surrounding islands through authentic, character-led storytelling. We are currently in the research and pre-funding stage, building a passionate team of volunteers who want to help create a high-quality documentary series from the ground up.
About the Role
We're looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Researchers to help identify and develop engaging stories for the series. Working alongside our Research Producer and production team, you'll play an important role in discovering contributors, researching local history, exploring potential filming opportunities and helping shape the editorial direction of each episode. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in television, documentaries, journalism, media production or storytelling.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
