Salary: £32,475 – £34,995 (pro rata for full-time equivalent) Hours: 37 hours per week (including some evenings/weekends for engagement work) Location: Wolverhampton (community-based work across the city) Job Type: Permanent


Overview

Join our Communications & Engagement team as a Resident Engagement Officer, working directly with residents to ensure their voices shape and improve Wolverhampton Homes’ services. This hands-on, people-focused role includes:

  • Supporting customer feedback initiatives under Tenant Satisfaction Measures and Consumer Standards
  • Co-creating opportunities for residents to engage with service developments
  • Building trust and collaboration across communities, stakeholders, and internal teams

Key Responsibilities

To succeed, you’ll:

  • Facilitate engagement:
    • Co-design and deliver engagement events (including evenings/weekends when needed)
    • Manage Tenant Satisfaction Measures and feedback mechanisms
    • Accurately capture resident insights and drive actionable improvements
  • Build relationships:
    • Foster connections with residents, tenant groups, communities, and external partners
    • Represent Wolverhampton Homes professionally at community gatherings
  • Support initiatives:
    • Develop consultations, surveys, and engagement programmes
    • Share resident voice themes with cross-functional teams
    • Maintain records and compile reporting on engagement activities
  • Advocate for resident involvement:
    • Proactively create opportunities to solicit and integrate resident input

About You

The ideal candidate has:

  • A genuine passion for community work and building trust-based relationships
  • Strong communication skills to listen actively and liaise effectively across diverse audiences
  • Organisational flavour: ability to prioritise tasks, follow up on commitments, and manage workloads independently
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations and occasionally outside standard office hours
  • Customer-centric mindset with a solutions-focused approach
