Location: Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 (Inc Shift Allowance)
Shift Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday (8:00am – 4:30pm) – 40 Hours
About This Role
We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join a leading materials handling business as a full-time onsite employee, focused on maintaining a key customer site. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklift trucks and a range of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure minimal downtime and exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Forklift and MHE Maintenance: Conduct servicing, routine checks and repairs to ensure reliable operation of forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery, HGV’s, or industrial vehicles.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Use electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic expertise to diagnose and resolve issues onsite efficiently.
- Operational Oversight: Minimise machine downtime while maintaining high delivery standards in a fast-paced environment.
- ** zas an output. Wrapping it sides with Certification Support: Ensure all inspections and compliance procedures meet engineering and regulatory standards.
- Collision avoidance: Enhance workplace safety and avoid preventable machine damage.

Requirements
Non-Negotiable Must-Haves
- Proven hands-on servicing or maintenance experience in vehicle/industrial equipment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Firsthand experience with servicing or fault-finding on:
- Forklift trucks
- Mobile plant machinery (e.g. lifting platforms, earth-moving equipment)
- HVGs or industrial vehicles
- Core expertise in these technical domains:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Hydraulics
- A recognised engineering certification/qualification
