The Opportunity

WPS is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Resident Fabric Engineer to join our Facilities Management team at our client's site, Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames.

Based permanently on-site, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the shopping centre remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for retailers, visitors, and staff. Working as part of the wider facilities team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the estate, helping to maintain an exceptional environment for one of the region's busiest retail destinations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabric engineer looking for the stability of a resident role within a supportive and established FM team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake general building fabric works including:
    • Carpentry and joinery
    • Basic plumbing repairs
    • Decorating and painting
    • Flooring and ceiling repairs
    • Door and lock maintenance
    • Minor masonry and patch repairs
  • Complete inspections and identify fabric defects, reporting any issues requiring specialist attention.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Liaise professionally with the client, retailers, contractors, and centre management team.
  • Accurately complete work records and maintenance documentation using CAFM/mobile systems.
  • Support compliance activities and assist other engineering disciplines where required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and uphold all health and safety procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
