Job Description
The role is to carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner, maintaining documentation of all works in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at our client’s premises. Travel may occasionally be required off site.
- Ensure site stock is monitored and counted, maintaining sufficient levels for daily fleet maintenance.
- Conduct inspections and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
- Complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisitions/parts paperwork within required deadlines.
- Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (including van, laptop, printer, etc.) to ensure their condition is appropriate for the work undertaken.
- Adhere to strict planned schedules and deadlines.

Requirements
The role requires knowledge of at least one of the following areas (additional training provided):
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Personal Specifications
Essential Skills
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proficient fault finding and repair skills.
- Educated with GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
- Experience with Health & Safety requirements in a workshop environment.
- Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise to meet tight deadlines.
- Capable of independent or team-based work.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including consultation and negotiation.
- Flexibility to adapt to diverse operational needs.
- Highly motivated, with resilience under pressure.
- Proactive attitude—optimistic and personable.

Desirable Skills
- Recent experience in the forklift truck service environment (not essential).
- An engineering qualification.

Terms & Conditions
- Hours: Monday–Friday (shift pattern discussed at interview).
- Company Vehicle: Provided with optional private-use fuel card (subject to tax regulations).
- Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays per year.
