About the Role

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to join the Provider Services Leadership Team at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council – rated Good by CQC. We are passionate about creating a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve. We are looking for an experienced CQC Registered Manager to set up and run a 13-bedded Residential Care Home providing short-term, rehabilitation-focused support. This new service will offer strengths-based, therapy-led residential care to adults who are either being discharged from hospital or are at risk of admission. It will primarily support Older Adults, helping them maximise independence and return home wherever possible.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be the CQC Registered Manager, responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and overall performance of the service.

  • As the service is newly established, this is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a fresh offer for Blackburn with Darwen.
  • The Registered Manager will be supported by two assistant managers and a full care and support team.
  • The successful candidate will also join our leadership team and will have a key role in shaping the future of our in-house provider services.
  • They will lead strategic change across the local partnership, holding a portfolio of services that are key to the success of the residential care home.
  • These include overseeing the enablement hub (which coordinates our multi-agency discharge process) and the department's hospital discharge team.
  • The right candidate will have a proven track record in delivering high quality regulated care and developing new services.
  • The initial priority for the role will be to establish a 13 bedded unit, working at speed to bring the service into operation, collaborating with colleagues in the council and health partners and ensuring all standards of regulated care are met.

Qualifications

  • Management qualification or formal management training, or willingness to undertake required training.
  • Detailed knowledge of the requirements of CQC regulated care and related inspection processes in relation to adults’ residential care services.

Terms and Conditions

  • 37 hours per week, permanent
