About The Role
We are embarking on a significant transformation programme to strengthen our residential care offer to vulnerable children and young people and are offering exciting career opportunities in this area. Working for the council means putting the children and young people before anything else; the residential growth project is part of achieving this, meaning that we can put achieving outcomes for young people at the fore-front of our service.
The role of a Residential Care worker is exciting and fulfilling. You will be responsible for the day to day care of the young people ensuring that their needs are met in line with a structured care plan. It can be challenging at times but every day is different and watching a child grow and achieve their full potential can give you a huge sense of pride and achievement.

Joining the residential homes team, you will have the opportunity to work across our children’s homes, helping to provide child centred care 7 days a week including some early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. You will also be requested to be available to sleep-in as part of the hours completed.
You will be an important part of the wider Children’s Services multi-disciplinary team of professionals including social workers, outreach workers and early intervention teams all working towards and supporting children and young people in our care, to reach their full potential.
