Company Description

Monarch Interventions is a family-run organization providing a comprehensive range of care and support services for children and young people. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Residential Care Worker role based in the Greater Stoke-on-Trent Area. The Residential Care Worker will provide day-to-day support, supervision, and guidance to children and young people in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

  • Assisting with education and recreational activities
  • Promoting independence and life skills
  • Helping young people manage emotions and behavior in a positive way

The role involves maintaining accurate records, contributing to care plans, and working closely with colleagues and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care. The Residential Care Worker will also help uphold safeguarding standards, follow organizational policies, and participate in training and team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to build trusting, professional relationships with children and young people, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skills in supporting emotional well-being, behavior management, and conflict de-escalation in a calm, trauma-informed manner.
  • Competence in organizing daily routines, planning activities, and promoting independence and life skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, follow care plans, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles, professional boundaries, and relevant care regulations or willingness to learn.
  • Prior experience in residential care, social care, youth work, or similar settings is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant qualification in social care, youth work, or childcare (or working towards such a qualification) is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
