We now have an opportunity for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team.


The Competencies and Responsibilities

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be integral in supporting young people across multiple dimensions of their daily lives, including:

  • Mentoring and facilitating their hobbies, social connections, and friendships, while helping them explore and develop new skills.
  • Providing daily care and fostering a safe, homely therapeutic environment, such as:
    • Assisting with routines like preparations for school.
    • Ensuring nutritious, balanced meals.
  • Guaranteeing young people have a secure space to relax, unwind, and recharge within the home.
  • Empowering them to tap into their potential and explore fresh opportunities, including:
    • Guiding their personal growth through engaging activities and consistent, reliable care.
    • Cultivating meaningful relationships, ensuring safeguarding needs are constantly met.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with other professionals, advocating for their needs, and contributing to their care planning.

Requirements

  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential to safely transport young people to school appointments and relevant activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for looked-after children.
  • Proven capability to build trusting and supportive relationships.
  • A deep compassion for delivering high-quality care to looked-after children.
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, including:
    • Working evenings and weekends.
    • Completing overnight sleep-ins as required.
  • A willingness to undertake a [Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce](https://www.level3 połacation.org).
