Residential Child Care Worker | North Lancashire

Residential Child Care Worker Location: North Lancashire (Morecambe & Lancaster) Permanent, Full-Time | 37 Hours Per Week Salary: Starting at £28,142*** (with enhancements***) per annum

Visa Sponsorship: Not provided for this role

Who We Are

Our Children’s Residential Service is growing rapidly with the introduction of new children’s homes and enhancements to existing ones. We’re seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our teams as Residential Child Care Workers in locations across Morecambe and Lancaster.

We believe every child deserves nurturing, lasting relationships built on trust, creativity, and shared aspirations. Our approach prioritises:

  • Meaningful engagement through dynamic activities (indoor and outdoor)
  • Holistic development to support children aged 11–17 years
  • Trauma-informed care, recognising adverse experiences (e.g., childhood trauma) prevent children from living safely with families

About the Role

As a Residential Child Care Worker, you’ll live in and support children/young people in care settings. Core responsibilities include:

  • Lifestyle integration: Share meals, sleep overnight (when required), and handle weekly household duties (cleaning, cooking, shopping).
  • Emotional support: Conduct one-to-one emotional checks, facilitating conversations about behaviour, feelings, and challenges.
  • Multi-agency collaboration: Work closely with social workers, schools, police, and health professionals to tailor support.
  • Rota-based shifts: Commitment to a mix of day, evening, weekend, and sleep-in shifts necessary to cover 24/7 care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
