Residential Child Care Worker – New Childcare Homes, Skelmersdale

As part of our “Where Our Children Live” programme, we are recruiting dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Children’s Residential Service.

Two brand-new settings are opening in Skelmersdale, and we need the right people to help launch:

  • [Pause & Reflect Home] – a 2-bedroom residential home for young people (aged 11–17), providing temporary support in urgent circumstances.
  • SPACE Hub – further outreach support (see About You for details).

About the Role

As a Residential Child Care Worker, you would:

  • Live in a children’s home alongside children and young people (11–17 years).
  • Share mealtimes, sleep, and household duties (cleaning, cooking, shopping).
  • Work with children whose current living situation is unsafe due to traumatic experiences or adverse childhood factors.
  • Deliver 1:1 support around emotions, behaviour, and mental well-being.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
