£13.26 to 17.71 (Depending on shift pattern and day)
We are currently looking to recruit Residential Childcare Workers to work within a Secure Children’s Home on an ad hoc basis.
Within this role you will be supporting a range of young people that may have challenging or criminal behaviour, risk to themselves or others or remanded by the courts to reside in secure accommodation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Previous experience of working within residential childcare settings and Secure Homes.
- Effective communications in relation to report writing and verbal communication with staff and children.
- Hands on and forward thinking.
- A professional and caring nature.
- Confident and able to speak up where appropriate.
- The ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive manner.
- A level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Children and Young People is desirable but not essential to the role.

Requirements Of The Role
- Ensure the welfare of all young people within the service.
- Take a child centred approach and ensure that high quality care is always provided.
- Contribute towards the care, learning and development of young people within the service.
- Ensure that young people within service are appreciated, provided with equal opportunities, and never discriminated.
- Ensure personal choice and encourage each young person to be involved in all aspects of their care.
- Liaise with parents/families of the young people within the service as well as external authorities.
- Must be available for both days and night shifts Monday to Friday.
- Follow individual care plans to ensure each young person is effectively supported with all of their daily living needs. xlqdzyr.
- A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is desirable due to the nature of the role.
