Residential Childcare Worker
Location: Darlington
Salary: £12.71 – £20.88 per hour (dependent on shift pattern and location)
We are currently seeking Residential Childcare Workers to join our residential settings.
In this role, you will:
- Support young people with learning difficulties, autism, emotional behavioural disorders (EBD), and mental health issues.
- Work with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviours and have complex health needs.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in residential childcare settings.
- Strong communication skills, including report writing, verbal communication with staff, and awareness of non-verbal cues.
- A professional, caring, and proactive approach.
- The ability to effectively engage with young people in a supportive and motivative manner.
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Children and Young People (desirable but not mandatory).

Role Responsibilities
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the welfare, safety, and well-being of all young people within the service.
- Adopting a child-centred approach to provide high-quality care consistently.
- Contributing to the care, learning, and development of young people under your supervision.
- Promoting anti-discrimination policies, ensuring equal opportunities, and respecting personal choice.
- Collaborating with parents, families, and external authorities to support young people.
- Following individual care plans to meet each young person’s daily living needs effectively.

Support Required for the Role
- A full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle would be beneficial due to the nature of the work.
