Job Title: Residential Childcare Specialist

Pay Rate: £15.78 - £21.32 per hour PAYE (includes rolled-up holiday pay) + sleep-over allowances

Location: Inverkeithing, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Cowdenbeath, Rosyth, Lochgelly, and Kelty

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, 24-hour residential care to young people facing complex emotional and social difficulties.
  • Establish a stable, welcoming home environment by aiding with daily schedules, meal preparation, routine domestic duties, and recreational outings.
  • Encourage academic engagement and assist young residents in building vital independence and life skills.
  • Maintain rigorous adherence to national care standards, precise administrative record-keeping, and proactive safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary professionals to manage therapeutic care plans effectively.

Candidate Requirements

  • Driving Capability: A valid, full UK manual driving licence is mandatory for transporting young people in service vehicles.
  • Core Values: Demonstrable resilience, deep empathy, active listening abilities, and an unshakeable commitment to child welfare.
  • Qualifications: SVQ Level 3 / SCQF Level 7 in Children and Young People's Residential Care (or a genuine willingness to work towards this qualification).
  • Compliance: Readiness to complete background checks under the PVG scheme (fully funded by the employer).
  • Availability: Capability to commit to at least one shift every four weeks to retain active status.

Transferable Skills & Broader Backgrounds
