The Role
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our young people with their daily needs. From getting ready for school and meal preparations to after-school activities and planning engaging social events—what you do each day makes a lasting difference.
Your responsibilities include:

Making children’s lives better
- Ensuring they receive the highest level of support they need
- Supporting senior staff with timely updates

Personalised engagement
- Promoting individuality (not a "one size fits all" approach)
- Completing and updating care plans, including new requirements or targets

Contributing to a homely environment
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be at your best if you: ✔ Truly care about positively impacting a child’s future—warm, patient, and a great listener ✔ Have a focused drive to help others achieve their best and take pride in knowing you’re making a difference
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience (volunteering, freelance, or familial care) is a plus
- Ability to work towards SSSC qualifications (if applicable)
- A full UK driving licence (to use company vehicles)

About Shian House
Shian House is nestled in the peaceful village of Balfron, with striking surroundings.
This five-bedroom farmhouse includes:
- A games room, quiet room, spacious lounge/design area, and bright dining space

- Raised beds for growing vegetables—cooked and enjoyed by young people and the team
