About the Role
As a Registered Manager, you will be accountable for the regulation, governance, and quality of your care home. Your key responsibilities include:
- Setting high standards of care excellence to create a caring and supportive environment where children and young people can flourish.
- Leading a high-performing, compassionate team with trauma-informed practice at its core—a fundamental pillar of this role.
- Collaborating closely with the wider management team to ensure the home consistently meets inspection criteria and implements any necessary recommendations to improve services.
- Delivering exceptional, integrated therapeutic care to every child in residential support, prioritising their holistic well-being.
- Ensuring alignment with the islands priority to Put Children First, embedding their needs into all decisions, policies, and daily operations.
Strategically, you will play a foundational role as we develop new residential homes and build a transformed care system.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the legal, regulatory, and operational compliance of the children’s residential home in line with government standards.
- Develop and maintain clinical and pastoral support systems to meet the needs of vulnerable young people.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and addressing areas for development.
- Foster strong partnerships with external agencies (e.g., social care, health, education) to develop holistic care plans.
- Represent the home in reporting to inspectors and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Build and retain a skilled, empathetic multi-disciplinary team with robust training in trauma-informed care.
- Ensure equitable and accessible child-centred care, addressing cultural, racial, and individual differences.
Requirements
- Preferred qualifications: Degree in social sciences, healthcare or psychology; or equivalent professional experience in children’s residential care or therapeutic settings.
- Essential knowledge: Current awareness of OFSTED/Social Care Standards and fostering/care legislation.
- Leadership experience in managing complex, compassionate teams delivering high impact care.
- Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion—healthy goal in shaping supportive environments for diverse children.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with staff, families, and children.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and improvements through data and feedback-driven practices.
- Preferred: Prior experience in regulatory compliance or inspection readiness processes.
