Residential Children’s Worker – Full-Time (2:4 Shift System with Sleep-Ins)

The Role
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
- Support care plans, developmental goals, and emotional well-being.
- Promote safeguarding practices, routines, and behavioural boundaries.
- Engage young people in education, recreation, and essential life skills.
- Act as a key worker, leading shifts as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and liaise with families and external professionals.
Salary & Work Patterns
- Salary: Subject to experience/qualifications (overtime available).
- Working Hours: 2:4 shift system (2 days on, 4 days off), including sleep-ins.
- Annual Salary Range: £27,300.00 – £35,725.96 (full-time).

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Ability to build strong relationships with young people and colleagues.
- Resilience, adaptability, and emotional calmness under pressure.
- An inclusive, rights-based approach to care and support.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Microsoft Office.
- Strong ethical integrity and professionalism as a positive role model.
- Full UK driving licence (required for shift work including weekends and sleep-ins).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in working with children or vulnerable populations.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in residential care.

Required & Desired Criteria (Reiterated)
Required Criteria
- Ability to maintain and develop positive relationships with young people, professionals, and colleagues.
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating honesty and professional integrity.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
- Commitment to completing a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare.
Desired Criteria
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Additional experience in trauma-informed care or safeguarding.
