Residential Conveyancer Vacancy
We are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join our office-based team. The successful candidate will oversee a caseload of residential property matters, from initial instruction through to completion, while delivering high-quality legal advice and client support. They must ensure efficient case progression and adherence to all regulatory and internal procedures.
The role involves managing client relationships, meeting key deadlines, and contributing to continuous process improvement in document management practices.
Key Responsibilities

Act for clients across a full range of residential property matters, including:
- Sales
- Purchases
- Remortgages
- Transfers of equity
- Leasehold transactions

Manage cases from initial instruction through to post-completion, ensuring timely progression.

Draft, review, and issue formal documentation, including:
- Contracts
- Completion statements
- Transfer deeds
- SDLT returns
- Mortgage deed packages

Ensure accuracy, professional presentation, and adherence to required timescales for all documentation.

Liaise with:
- Clients
- Estate agents
- Lenders
- Local authorities
- HM Land Registry
- Other solicitors
- Third parties

Obtain searches, reply to enquiries, and secure undertakings; provide clear, timely updates to clients and colleagues.

Conduct property searches, review reports, and address pre-contract enquiries, advising on issues and required solutions.

Manage financial aspects, including:
- Obtaining redemption figures
- Preparing completion statements
- Arranging funds transfers
- Ensuring AML checks and client verification comply with firm policies.

Maintain the case management system and electronic document management:
- Open and close files
- Record file notes
- Index correspondence and documents according to firm procedures.

Support billing processes:
- Record time accurately
- Prepare fee notes
- Assist with fee and disbursement queries
- Escalate issues as needed.

Proven experience as a residential conveyancer or solicitor with a track record in managing varied caseloads to completion.

Strong knowledge of:
- Residential property practice
- Land Registry procedures
- SDLT requirements
- Leasehold/freehold matters
- Relevant forms and searches

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy standards in drafting.

Confident user of:
- Case management systems
- Electronic document management
- Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Highly organised, with the ability to:
- Prioritise tasks under pressure
- Manage multiple matters concurrently
- Meet strict deadlines while maintaining professionalism

Sound understanding of AML requirements and compliance procedures.

Strong numerical skills for completion statements and fund handling.

Exceptional interpersonal abilities, with ability to:
- Work collaboratively within a team
- Liaise confidently with clients, lenders, estate agents, and professionals.
