Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (NQ – 5 PQE)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (NQ – 5 PQE) to join our busy and growing Property team in Brighton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified or junior solicitor looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate must have experience managing their own residential conveyancing caseload and be confident handling matters independently while delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion.
- Handle a broad range of transactions, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages
- Transfers of equity
- New build transactions
- Shared ownership properties
- Right to Buy matters
- Review title documentation, searches and enquiries.
- Draft and approve contracts, transfer deeds and completion documentation.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers and other solicitors to progress transactions efficiently.
- Exchange contracts and oversee successful completions.
- Ensure all files are managed in accordance with SRA regulations and firm procedures.
- Conduct client due diligence and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks.
- Maintain excellent client relationships through proactive communication and outstanding client care.
- Contribute to the continued success and growth of the Residential Property department.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with between NQ and 5 years' PQE.
- Proven experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process from instruction to completion.
- Experience handling freehold and leasehold transactions independently.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience using a legal case management system.
- Experience dealing with new build and shared ownership transactions.
- Business development or networking experience.
