Older People Care Services – part of Lancashire County Council – delivers support to over 1,000 adults, including:
- Residents in 16 care homes
- Visitors to 13 day centres
- Older people, individuals with dementia, and their families

About This Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to enable older adults to maintain independence and quality of life.
- Work towards recognising and assessing needs, coordinating care plans, and ensuring dignity in all interactions.
- Ensure all care adheres to legal and professional standards, including The Care Certificate guidance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
- Attend all mandatory training and safeguarding procedures.
- A historical caution (under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974) may require DBS disclosure.
Skills & Experience
Ideal applicant for this role demonstrates:
- Empathy, patience, and a strong care ethic.
- Experience in residential care, dementia support, or adult social work preferred (not always essential but valuable).
- Ability to work flexibly in shifts, including evenings/weekends (due to nature of care services).
