Residential Services Support Officer – Homewood Care Home, Andover
Job Reference: HCC624478 Salary Range: £27,780 – £30,564 pro-rata, per annum (actual salary £22,524 – £24,781 per annum) Hours per Week: 30 Work Location: Homewood Care Home, Andover Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 19 July 2026
About the Role
We’re privileged to work with some amazing people at Homewood, our residential service for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. As a Residential Services Support Officer, you’ll provide personalised support, helping residents engage in meaningful activities while ensuring a home-like environment. We offer long-stay placement services with enriching experiences, whether through community outings or activities within our safe, comfortable setting.
You’ll complete comprehensive induction and training to become a confident and valued team member in our friendly, supportive care community.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver Exceptional Care
- Provide the highest standard of physical and emotional care, ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued.
- Proactively observe and assess residents’ health and well-being, taking swift action to meet their needs.

Collaborate and Innovate
- Work with families, carers, colleagues, and professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
- Contribute to shaping individualised support that aligns with each resident’s goals and wishes.

Communicate and Document
- As a shift leader, maintain open communication with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Accurately record progress, needs, and care information to ensure consistency and high-quality support.

Our Requirements
- Strong understanding of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities and experience in supporting independence.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and compassion in a caring role.
- Excellent teamworking and collaborative skills.
- Strong communication skills for building relationships with diverse groups (residents, families, carers, professionals, and colleagues).
- Sound IT skills and ability to accurately record information.

Note: This role operates 24/7, requiring a 4-week flexible shift pattern, including working every other weekend, early/late shifts, sleep-ins, and bank holidays (with enhancements as per HCC salary policy).
Additional Information

- Related Experience: Previously held roles may include Support Worker, Care Assistant, Home Carer, Learning Support Assistant, Medical Day Services Support Worker, or similar.
