- Work Base: The Big House, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, NG21 9QA
- Hours: 37 per week (full-time)

About the Role
The Children and Families Department at Nottinghamshire County Council follows a strengths-based approach— known as “Our Nottinghamshire Approach”—to support children, young people, and families.

As a Residential Social Care Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring children receive: ✔ High-quality care and emotional support ✔ Attention to their physical, health, and developmental needs ✔ Collaborative teamwork in a warm and inclusive environment
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Providing personalised care and support to children with intellectual disabilities, including those with risk behaviours, physical disabilities, and complex medical/sensory needs.
- Meeting health, emotional, and developmental needs through structured and playful interventions.
- Documenting care plans accurately while working within a shift-based system (including weekends/bank holidays).
- Contributing to a safe, nurturing environment through team collaboration.
- Engaging in enriching activities that promote growth and well-being.

Additional Requirements:
- Experience in a residential or school-based setting working with children (especially those with learning disabilities).
- A valid full driving licence (required for occasional travel).
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
Scheduling:
- Early shifts: 6:30/7 am – 3:00 pm
- Late shifts: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- Rotating two weekends per month with a 12-week schedule advance, allowing time for planning.
