Residential Support Worker

About the Role
Work in a children’s home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children’s lives. This role is ideal for:
- Experienced Residential Workers or Youth Workers
- Those with no previous experience but eager to build a career in residential care
We are seeking determined, caring, and thoughtful people to become long-lasting, significant adults in a child’s life.
Key Requirements
Mandatory Criteria
- Must be 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations)
- Must hold a valid manual driving licence
- Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
Core Competencies
- Caring, compassionate
- Ability to build positive relationships with others
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
No Experience Necessary
- Previous residential experience is not required
- Supports include:
- 2 weeks of classroom-based training (Skills to Care induction)
- 1 week of shadow shifts

Professional Development
- Support to achieve your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months
- Transition into role as a Level 3 qualified Residential Support Worker, enabling career progression
Responsibilities as a Residential Support Worker
Core Duties
- Provide a non-judgemental, supportive environment for children to experience childhood freely
- Build self-esteem and ensure children accept themselves while embarking on their journey into adulthood
- Facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of life.
- Ensure health and well-being, with strict adherence to safeguarding protocols
Support and Care
- Work with a diverse range of children and young people, some of whom require high levels of support and supervision
- Collaborate with the wider team to manage domestic tasks, including:
- Cleaning
- Cooking
- Food shopping
Administrative Tasks
- Create and manage timetables for children’s activities and personal care
- Handle safeguarding paperwork and write detailed reports
