About the Role
Eligibility & Key Qualities
You must:
- Be 22 years of age or older (Ofsted regulation).
- Have a genuine caring spirit, compassion, and the ability to connect with others.
- Hold a valid manual driving licence (essential for transporting children).
- Stay calm under pressure in challenging situations.
Previous experience? Not required. Our Skills to Care induction includes: ✅ 2 weeks of classroom training ✅ 1 week of shadow shifts to prepare for the role. ✅ Support completing the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, achievable within 12 months.

Responsibilities
- Provide a non-jJudgemental home where children can simply be their true selves.
- Create positive childhood experiences that build self-esteem and support their development.
- Arrange and facilitate activities, appointments, and daily needs for children.
- Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring 24/7 safeguarding.
- Work with children and young people who may require high levels of support and supervision, often in demanding circumstances.
- Provide emotional and practical support, guiding them through each milestone.
- Play a full support role: cooking, cleaning, shopping, meal prep, and daily home duties.
- Admin tasks: Organise timetables, manage paperwork, and prepare supportive reports.
