Childrens Residential Support Worker – Great Houghton, Northamptonshire – NN4

Employer: Homes2Inspire (part of Shaw Trust Group)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent, 40 hours per week

Salary: £27,976 - £28,650 per annum (£13.45 – £13.77 per hour) + sleep-in allowance (£46.01 per sleep) + attendance bonus

Location: Great Houghton, Northamptonshire – NN4

Vacancy

Robin House offers bespoke support for children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. It is a solo placement home, which is currently home to a 16 your old male who is very active and loves going outside to the park for walks. We therefore require support workers who are happy to spend a lot of time outside, walking, being active and generally having fun!

Previous experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, are essential, preferably with an understanding of sensory needs. You must be comfortable with personal care.

We are looking for staff who are dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate about supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, showing patience, empathy and being able to remain calm during difficult periods. The young person is very attuned to emotions; therefore, it is vital that staff have a happy disposition at times!

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people in our care. Support with daily routines, household tasks, and meal preparation and medication support (if required). Provide personal care. Encourage participation in community activities and hobbies. Transport young people to school, medical appointments, and activities. Act as a positive role model, setting clear boundaries and building trust. Help young people develop life skills, including managing finances. Maintain accurate records and paperwork. Work alongside the young persons family for regular updates, communicate changes etc.

Drivers with a FULL UK License are preferred but not essential, the home is located in a village location and the home does offer onsite parking.

Shifts

40 hours per week 12 hour shifts from 0700 – 1900

What You’ll Bring

Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Willingness to work towards QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (fully funded). Honesty, empathy, and a commitment to being a positive role model.
