Role: Residential Support Worker

Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

Salary Up to £25,949.00 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent - Full-time, 37 hours a week - shifts set between 7am – 3pm or 2pm – 10pm on a 4 weekly rota basis.

A bit about the role:

The Vines is situated in High Wycombe, just minutes off the M40, 20 minutes off the M25, and well served by the local public transport network. In this warm and welcoming house, we provide residential short breaks that support children and young people with learning disabilities aged 11 to 19 who have complex behavioural needs.

We are looking for a Residential Worker to join our fun and supportive team, who can bring their experience, can-do attitude, and passion with them and help maintain the high standards already set by our wonderful team! Working hours are on a shift basis and you'll know your rota a month in advance.

Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritized by delivering personalized care, guidance, and advocacy.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi-agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work, etc.
  • Being resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations.

Let's talk about you, ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with our young people and their families.
  • A solution-focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
  • Emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years.
