About us
heb Chartered Surveyors is a multi-disciplined property consultancy based in Nottingham, with over 23 years' experience advising clients across commercial agency, professional work and valuation. Residential valuation is a growing part of the business, sitting alongside our established commercial work and the firm has built a strong reputation across the East Midlands, working with a well-established client base including local authorities, housing associations, private developers and national housebuilders.
We are based in Canalside House which is one of the city’s most prominent office buildings having a modern Grade A specification and is located on the edge of the city centre close to the railway station, tram stops and Broadmarsh bus station.
The role
We are looking for an MRICS-qualified surveyor or AssocRICS qualified surveyor to lead on Right to Buy and residential valuation instructions across the East Midlands, predominantly Nottingham/Nottinghamshire. This is a high-volume, fast-turnaround valuation role - if you like being out on the road, in and out of properties, and producing valuations this is for you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
