Salary: £33,854 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed term appointment until 30th March 2029 (with the possibility of extension or permanency)
Hours: 37 hours per week

What You’ll Do
You will work closely with the planning and operational teams to build a programme of work that will accelerate our Forest Resilience and Plantation on Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) restoration programme, focusing on the most challenging sites which are unlikely to achieve our policy targets without additional support.
Key Responsibilities
- You will be part of the Central district establishment team, developing and delivering a district-wide programme of forest resilience and PAWS restoration.
- This will involve working with other teams, including:
- Planning
- Ecology
- Civil engineering
- Supporting our beat teams
- Your role will include identifying priorities, coordinating and implementing projects, and supporting operational teams in their delivery.

- A range of habitats, including woodland, wetland, grassland, and heathland
- Seven visitor centres, attracting over 2.5 million visits annually
The district produces approximately 150,000 tonnes of timber per year.
Postholder Location: Based in the district office at Sherwood Pines, Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire. Other Forestry England office locations within the district may be considered.
Work Pattern: A blended working pattern can be agreed.

This role is funded by DEFRA, not Forestry England-generated revenue. Funding allocations are subject to government spending reviews.
