Job Description
Join our Resource Planning team and play a vital role in supporting the resourcing of large-scale police operations while managing the day-to-day staffing of Police Officers and Police Staff.
As a Resource Assistant, you will contribute to ensuring Avon and Somerset Police has the right resources in place when and where they are needed to help deliver an outstanding service to our communities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records, producing reports and documentation, and balancing operational demands with individual needs to ensure optimal staffing levels.

Responsibilities
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
- Administer shift rotas to ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained, and shift patterns are accurately published and communicated to all relevant individuals and teams
- Review and manage leave requests, record sickness absences, and support the processing of flexible working agreements, including updating and maintaining records of new shift patterns
- Monitor and manage email inboxes, promptly escalating any issues to the appropriate line manager
- Coordinate resource requests from across the force area for both pre-planned and spontaneous events
- Support internal customers in building shift patterns, ensuring they are compliant with policy and regulations
- Verify data accuracy across multiple computer systems, addressing any discrepancies appropriately to maintain data integrity

Skills And Experience Required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing tight deadlines while re-prioritising tasks to achieve results
- Experience handling high volumes of data entry with a consistent focus on maintaining accuracy and precision
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective collaboration and resolution of challenges
- Proficient in IT, with experience of using software tools such as Microsoft Office

Additional Information
To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
This is a blended working role, therefore you will have the opportunity to work from home and also at Police Headquarters, Portishead.
