Resource Coordinator

Resource Coordinator – Rail & Specialist Plant Solutions

About the Role

Our client is a well-established national provider of specialist plant and equipment solutions, supporting major construction, infrastructure, rail and energy projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an organised and proactive Resource Coordinator to join their operations team.

Reporting Into: Resource Management Function

Key Objective: Coordinate the supply of skilled plant operators and rail personnel to meet customer contract requirements across regions, ensuring efficient, compliant and high-quality service delivery.

This is a fast-paced role requiring strong planning, communication and organisational skills. Success depends on maintaining rigorous standards across compliance, competency and administrative processes.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate the allocation of suitably qualified plant operators to fulfil customer requirements across your assigned region.
  • Oversee labour supply coordination, liaising with operational teams, hire desks, sales teams, and site contacts to ensure smooth delivery of services.
  • Manage rail resource requirements, ensuring full compliance with industry standards, regulations and internal systems.

Compliance & Welfare

  • Ensure all operator documentation is current, including:
    • Qualifications
    • Right-to-work checks
    • Medicals
    • Competency records (proof of training)
  • Monitor sponsorship arrangements, fatigue management and rail-specific compliance obligations.
  • Conduct regular operator welfare and attendance checks.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate records in internal systems and databases.
  • Process payroll information and support accurate customer invoicing.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues within the resource coordination team when required.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in recruitment, labour supply, resource planning or workforce coordination is essential.
  • Experience working in a temporary recruitment or resourcing environment.
  • Essential: Knowledge of rail labour supply processes.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong telephone and email skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems.
