Are you ready to be part of the future? At QinetiQ, we’re not just imagining tomorrow we are creating it. From cutting-edge defence technology to ground-breaking innovations our mission is to empower and protect lives. Join us as a Resource Manager at our Shoeburyness site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.

The Role

As a Resource Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects and trials by coordinating the effective use of people, facilities, and equipment across a complex engineering and testing environment. By balancing competing priorities and providing clear visibility of resource availability, you’ll help maximise operational efficiency and support business performance.

Day-to-day, you’ll coordinate the planning and scheduling of workforce, facilities, specialist equipment, and trial activities across a complex engineering and testing environment. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, and Facility Managers, you’ll balance resource demand against capacity, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure key activities are delivered efficiently. You’ll monitor factors that affect resource availability, including maintenance schedules, equipment downtime, and personnel absences, while providing clear visibility of upcoming work through accurate plans, reports, and stakeholder communications. Acting as the central point of coordination for resource and facility planning, you’ll support prioritisation decisions, influence stakeholders at all levels, and continuously identify opportunities to improve planning processes and operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and maintaining workforce, facility, and equipment schedules to support project and trial delivery
  • Managing competing resource demands and resolving scheduling conflicts across operational and engineering teams
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Facility Managers and stakeholders to align resource availability with business priorities
  • Monitoring resource availability, maintenance activities and workforce capacity to minimise delivery disruption
  • Producing utilisation, capacity, and planning reports to support operational decision-making
  • Driving continuous improvement of resource planning processes, tools, and ways of working

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
