Resource Planning Analyst

As a proactive and strategic Resource Planning Analyst, your role is to focus on planning ahead—looking into days, weeks, and months—to ensure operational readiness and efficiency. Driven by the FCA’s Consumer Duty principle, your work directly impacts positive customer outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasting demand: Use data, trends, and business insights to predict short-, medium-, and long-term demand.
  • Resource planning: Convert forecasts into clear staffing requirements (FTE and skill mix).
  • Capacity planning: Build and maintain resource plans to optimise staffing levels.
  • Scheduling & rota management: Align schedules, shift patterns, and rotas with demand fluctuations.
  • Performance monitoring: Track performance through variance analysis and reforecasting adjustments.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Recommendations on:
    • Hiring strategies
    • Training needs
    • Resource allocation
  • Workforce Management (WFM) systems: Maintain and optimise systems for efficiency.
  • Collaboration with leadership: Partner with operational leaders to align planning with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Lead staffing discussions, providing insights to influence decision-making.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline forecasting, planning, and scheduling.

Requirements & Skills

Essential

  • Practical experience in:
    • Resource planning, forecasting, or workforce management
    • Contact centre or operational environments
  • Proficiency with workforce management systems and reporting tools
  • Proven ability to:
    • Build forecasts, schedules, and resource plans
    • Operate under pressure, balancing competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with an attention to detail
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Data literacy to:
    • Analyse Management Information (MI)
    • Proactively identify potential issues and drive solutions
