Job Title: Resourcing Operational Lead

Business Area/Directorate: SG Core People Directorate - Attraction and Resourcing

Location: Edinburgh - Saughton House

Working Arrangement: Staff in roles compatible with hybrid working should aim to spend 40% of their contracted working time working in person at their contractual workplace. Advert Type: Level Transfer

Duration: Permanent

Eligibility: Expressions of interest are invited from substantive colleagues on level transfer from Core SG only.

Overview

Are you a motivated operational service leader with a passion for driving high performance and delivering exceptional customer service?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Resourcing Operations Lead to play a strategic role in our Resourcing service, driving meaningful change and improving outcomes across the organisation. You will Oversee effective Resourcing and Recruitment practices for all A-C level recruitment and on-boarding activity.

Reporting to the Head of Resourcing Operations, in the wider Attraction and Resourcing team, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused recruitment services across the Scottish Government, its Executive Agencies, and associated bodies. As a champion of candidate experience, you will ensure every interaction reflects our values and standards, while building strong, credible relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders at all levels.

You will ensure the timely and efficient recruitment of talent in line with departments requirements whilst adhering to Civil Service Commission Principles.

The Resourcing Operations Lead provides operational leadership for all resourcing activities, ensuring the delivery of a quality service, efficient processes, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct line management of Team Managers and leadership of 12 Resourcing Professionals to deliver efficient and effective resourcing solutions.
  • Oversee the end to end recruitment process.
  • Planning, monitoring and reporting on recruitment schedules and progress.
  • Engaging regularly with relevant colleagues and stakeholders to ensure recruitment approaches are compliant and aligned with current policies
  • Developing team capabilities to provide excellent customer support and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring operational teams deliver high-quality recruitment services in line with agreed standards.
  • Provide leadership in managing team capabilities to provide excellent customer service and continuous improvement of resourcing processes and procedures.
  • Accountable for good data management across the team
