Responsible Individual – Children's Residential Services

Location: Birmingham (with travel as required)

Rate: £500 per day

Contract: Part-Time / Consultancy

Help Shape a New Children's Residential Provider from the Ground Up

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Responsible Individual to join a new, values-led children's residential provider as they prepare to launch their first Ofsted-registered home in Birmingham.

Built on strong ethics and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people, this organisation has entered the sector with one clear purpose – to provide exceptional care, outstanding safeguarding, and life-changing outcomes. This is a rare opportunity to have significant influence from the very beginning, working alongside an ambitious leadership team to establish a service built on quality rather than profit.

The Role

As Responsible Individual, you will provide strategic leadership and governance across the service, ensuring the home is fully compliant with Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.

Working closely with the Registered Manager and Directors, you will provide support, guidance, and constructive challenge while helping to establish a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
