About the role

At Gims Care Solution, we are committed to providing safe, nurturing and high-quality residential care for children and young people. We are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual to provide strategic leadership and regulatory oversight across our children's homes, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.

Working closely with our Registered Managers, you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting continuous improvement and helping children achieve positive outcomes within a therapeutic, child-centred environment.

Job Details

Location: Basildon and Romford (Three Homes- 2 Basildon 1-Romford)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent (flexible working may be considered)
Expected start date: 01/10/2026

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight across the children's homes.
  • Support and challenge Registered Managers to achieve outstanding standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
  • Monitor safeguarding, quality assurance, audits, incidents and complaints.
  • Review Regulation 44 reports and Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews.
  • Act as the main point of contact with Ofsted where required.
  • Maintain the Statement of Purpose and organisational policies.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies.
  • Support organisational growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant senior management experience within children's residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
  • Experience working with Ofsted and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong auditing and report-writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services.

Desirable

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting new children's home registrations.
  • Experience across multiple children's homes.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic care.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, right-to-work checks and all safer recruitment requirements.
