Restaurant Section Supervisor – AO Arena

The Role
The Restaurant Section Supervisor oversees dining operations end-to-end, ensuring smooth service in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Section Leadership
- Welcome and seat guests as required
- Take accurate food and drink orders
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar to deliver flawless premium service within tight event deadlines
- Guest Experience
- Provide personalised recommendations and handle allergens/special requests
- Execute service recovery to resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Orders & Delivery
- Accurate POS system use (entering orders, confirming modifiers/allergens)
- Expedite plated food on the pass, ensuring correct, timely delivery
- Supervise beverage service (wine by-the-glass, cocktails, beers, no/low alcohol)
- Presentation & Standards
- Maintain table readiness, cleanliness, and brand standards
- Station stocking and side-work management
- Team Development
- Mentor junior servers and runners with on-floor leadership
- Lead by example in service quality, operational flow, and sales techniques
- Financial & Logistical Tasks
- Manage bills, split checks, and process payments accurately
- Record comps (complimentary items) and voids according to policy

What We’re Looking For
- Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in upscale or high-volume restaurant service
- POS system familiarity (customers like Wares or similar POS) and direct menu knowledge
- Solid understanding of wine by-the-glass, cocktail basics, and beverage pairings
- Exceptional allergen awareness with transparent guest communication
- Meticulous order accuracy under time constraints
- Ability to thrive in unpredictable environments—multitasking, pacing, and stress resilience
- Flexibility & Availability
- Must commit to on-call or last-minute changeovers
- Evenings, weekends, and bank holidays available as per AO Arena’s schedule
