Mobile Restoration Technician – Portsmouth (Full-Time, Permanent)

Our services support businesses and private clients, including housing associations, councils, construction firms, property experts, the hospitality sector, and facilities management companies.
As a mobile technician, you will be appointed by our supplier to attend insurance claims, ensuring prompt and professional responses to claims. Ideal candidates will either have experience as BDMA technicians (or equivalent) or be willing to undergo training to achieve certification.
Role: Restoration Technician (Full-Time, Permanent | Salary: DoE)
The purpose of this role is to provide restoration and remediation services in response to damages, including fire, flood, mould, and structural issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend insurance claims as a technical representative, completing on-site assessments.
- Prepare and submit detailed damage reports and recommendations for mitigation work.
- Install drying equipment for fire, flood, and mould damage restoration.
- Conduct basic strip-outs as required.
- Perform mould remediation to restore property integrity.
- Undertake fire damage remediation to clean and restore salvageable items.
- Clean and sanitise areas affected by guano (poultry/chicken droppings) contamination.
- Use specialist equipment for professional stone and surface cleaning.
- Work with minimal supervision and manage tasks efficiently in compliance with safety standards.
Experience & Qualifications Preferred
- Experience as a BDMA-certified disaster restoration technician (training provided for those new to the industry).
- Ability to travel across diverse UK locations (Portsmouth-based with assignments elsewhere).
- Knowledge of drying equipment installation, remediation techniques, and reporting standards.
- Working knowledge of health and safety protocols in high-risk environments.

Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail for accurate report writing and assessment documentation.
- Physical fitness to perform hands-on work, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.

- Experience in reading detailed damage reports or working from photographic assessments before responding to sites.
- Proven experience undertaking
- Installation and monitoring of drying equipment
- Basic strip-out of non-integral fittings to protected frameworks and;
About the Role
A permanent full-time position joining the Portsmouth-based team. Salary is DoE. Individuals willing to undergo training to become a qualified technician are welcome to apply.
