Job Description: Restoration Technician

About this Role
The Restoration Technician is crucial in restoring homes affected by fire or flood, ensuring customers can safely return as quickly and confidently as possible. This role delivers high-quality mitigation, restoration, and customer care to meet insurer expectations and provide reassurance to affected homeowners.
Responsibilities
Accurate and Insightful Damage Assessment
- Assess the extent and type of fire or water damage for clear, accurate restoration decisions.
Efficient and Effective Restoration Planning
- Develop and execute safe and practical restoration plans to allow prompt handover to reinstatement teams.

High-Standard Water and Fire Mitigation
- Perform critical mitigation tasks including:
- Water extraction
- Wet/damaged material strip-out
- Soot decontamination
- Drying equipment setup
Clean, Safe, and Habitable Environments
- Complete restorative actions, such as:
- Decontamination
- Sanitisation
- Deodorisation
- Debris removal
Clear, Accurate Documentation
- Maintain a detailed log of works completed, including:
- Accurate moisture readings
- Updates to insurance systems
- Floorplan production
- Claim process support
Positive and Supportive Customer Experience
- Engage with customers, adjusters, and colleagues to provide reassurance and updates.

Consistent Safety and Compliance Adherence
- Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
Profile Requirements
- BDMA and/or IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT, etc. — desirable)
- Valid driver’s licence
