Retail Area Support Officer

Mobile Multi-Site Retail Security Officer – Days of Working Flexible (Stockport & National)

About the Role

This is a mobile, multi-site role within OCS UK & Ireland, requiring adaptability to support operational needs across Stockport and beyond. Shift patterns vary, and an SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence is mandatory for this role.

We are seeking professional and adaptable Mobile Retail Security Officers to support multiple supermarket locations. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where consistency is impossible—no two days are the same.

Your core responsibilities will include preventing retail crime, ensuring a high standard of customer service, and making sure sites operate safely. As a mobile officer, flexibility is critical—you’ll work across various locations, respond to incidents during shifts, and adapt to operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • Provide a high-visibility deterrent against theft, anti-social behaviour, and store-related incidents.
  • Conduct regular patrols of shop floors, entrances, and store perimeters.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and respond to suspicious activity.
  • Rapidly and effectively resolve incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
  • Conduct safe and compliant pat-down searches while adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with store managers and local teams to address risks and support loss prevention strategies.
  • Compile clear, accurate incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Deliver a professional customer service experience—assisting with queries while maintaining customer rapport.
  • De-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety and legal procedures relevant to the role.
  • Travel between sites as needed, supporting security operations across locations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
