About the Role

This Part-Time Retail Artist role (working 2 days/16 hours per week) focuses on driving sales, enhancing the shopping experience, and acting as a brand ambassador at The Exchange, Selfridges. The perfect candidate will combine makeup artistry expertise with a passion for luxury beauty while delivering exceptional service and meeting sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Expertly present and sell Hourglass products through professional makeup applications
  • Develop a loyal client base through thorough and consistent follow-ups
  • Manage the counter operations, including:
    • Daily sales analytics
    • Assisting with product orders
    • Monitoring product tester replenishment
    • Monthly return to vendor (RTV) processes
  • Submit and manage monthly counter schedules
  • Oversee a 30-hour resident makeup artist role
  • Work with your supervisor to plan seasonal strategies and in-store events
  • Embody the Hourglass brand by fostering strong relationships within the cosmetics department and storewide

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in retail cosmetics management
  • Demonstrated mastery as a makeup artist and sales professional
  • Strong communication skills—tailored for clients, peers, and management
  • Ability to analyse sales results, forecasts, and promotional strategies
  • Ability to use basic office technology (keyboard, phone, etc.)
  • Availability to work weekends as required

Nice to Have

  • Existing client relationships (a plus!)
