General Assistant
We are recruiting for a General Assistant to join our Retail Team at Bents!

What is the role?
We are looking for a General Assistant to join us to provide exceptional world-class experiences whilst shopping in your department. Whether supporting a customer with their purchase, operating your till, putting stock out on displays or helping out your team with a delivery, you will be at the heart of a busy Retail team.
Your daily role will include;
- Ensuring customers are greeted and offered assistance in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Maintaining a good, up-to-date knowledge of all departmental and surrounding departments products.
- Collecting stock from the warehouse, following effective stock rotation management and replenish stock as required.
- Advising and supporting customers with their purchases to maximise sales.
- Striving at all times to satisfy and exceed customer expectations.
- Merchandising product ranges.

- Experience of working in a retail, customer-facing role is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Shows the ability to work at pace and under pressure.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a large team and be proactive.
- Has a customer service-focused mentality and shows good communication skills.
Other details for the General Assistant role:
We have a number of positions available with the following rota patterns:
- 8 hours per week: Thursday 16.00 - 20.00 and Sunday 12.30 - 16.30
- 35 hours per week: Week 1 - Mon 7.30 - 16.30, Tues 8.30 - 17.00, Wed 11.30 -20.00 Thurs 09.00 - 18.30 and Week 2 Mon 09.00-17.30, Wednesday 11.30 - 20.00, Thurs 07.30 - 16.30, Sat 10.00 - 19.00 and Sunday 9.00 - 17.00
- 24 hours per week: Monday 08.30 - 14.00, Thursday 12.00 - 20.00, Friday 08.30 - 14.00, Saturday 11.00-19.00
- 20 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday - Flexibility around shift start and end times
- 24 hours per week - over 4 days per week
The role is on a permanent basis. The role meets National Minimum and Living Wages.
