We’re looking for a friendly, proactive Retail Assistant to join our vibrant Gift Barn team, where every day is about creating a welcoming atmosphere and helping customers discover something special. From beautifully wrapped gifts to seasonal displays, you’ll play a key role in making our store a place people love to visit. If you have a flair for customer service, an eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment, we’d love to hear from you.
The Retail Assistant is to provide excellent customer service, maintain store presentation, and support daily retail operations. Assist customers with product selection, payments/transactions, and ensure a positive shopping experience is upheld.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries
- Provide product information and recommendations
- Operate the cash register and handle payments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked shelves
- Maintain clean, presentable shop, inclusive of entrance and till areas
- Receive, unpack, and display merchandise
- Assist with stock control and inventory checks
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
- Follow store policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines
- Support promotions and sales initiatives

Skills And Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Good time management and attention to detail
Working Conditions
- Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays
- Standing for extended periods
- Fast-paced retail environment
- Some heavy lifting may be required
