Retail Assistant - Part Time, Early Starts

Part-Time Retail Assistant Role – Wick, West Sussex

Hours: 16 hours across 4 days per week Pay: £10.95 – £12.81 per hour (depending on age: £10.95 for ages 16–20, £12.81 for ages 21+) Benefits:

About the Role

We are recruiting for a permanent part-time Retail Assistant at our shop in Wick, West Sussex, working a variety of shifts (minimum 16 hours, 4 days a week, including weekends). Early morning shifts are mandatory, so this role is best suited to those available for start times as early as 7am.

  • Greeting customers with a friendly smile and greeting, ensuring a warm welcome.
  • Assisting customers in finding products and answering any questions.
  • Processing sales efficiently at the till, offering help with bagging and ensuring a polite, positive checkout experience.
  • Handling deliveries, unpacking goods and stocking shelves in a safe and timely manner.
  • Supporting the team with daily and weekly routines, including cleaning, stock rotation and maintaining a clean, tidy shop.

This role requires:

  • A friendly, positive and hardworking attitude—you’ll be on your feet, busy and involved in a range of tasks.
  • Reliability, as you’ll be an integral part of a small team. Your customers and colleagues will depend on you.
  • Flexibility—your schedule may adjust to cover shifts when colleagues are off, though rota plans will always balance your commitments.
