Retail Assistant (Permanent Part-Time) – Speke, Liverpool

Hours: 12 hours per week, across 3 days, including weekends. Pay scale: £10.95 – £12.81 per hour (depending on age)


About the Role

We are recruiting for a permanent part-time Retail Assistant to join our team in Speke Boulevard, Speke.

  • Shifts: Primarily weekday evenings and all day on Saturdays & Sundays
  • Flexibility: Rotas planned 3 weeks ahead (commitments considered)

Responsibilities

As a Retail Assistant at Farmfoods, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring customers feel welcome with a friendly demeanour
  • Assisting with cashier duties – fast, efficient service at till points
  • Packing bags and offering assistance to leave an impressive, grateful impression
  • Stock management (e.g., freezer rotations, shelving, stock checks*)
  • Supporting day-to-day and weekly shop tasks (cleanliness, updates, adhering to safety standards)
  • Working collaboratively with your team to maintain clean, safe, and customer-ready environments

Requirements & Preferences

Essential:

  • A positive, hardworking attitude and ability to thrive in a busy environment
  • Reliability to contribute to team goals and customer service
  • Flexibility to cover shifts when team members are unavailable (holidays, absences)
  • Enjoyment in multitasking (stock, customer service, till, deliveries)

Desirable:

  • Well-organised with a -checklist-driven approach to daily tasks
  • Keen to progress professionally (training opportunities are available)

Compensation & Benefits

Salary

  • Ages 16-20: £10.95 per hour
  • Ages 21+: £12.81 per hour
