Retail Store Assistant – Southport Superstore (Permanent, Part-Time)
£12.71 per hour plus benefits

As a Retail Store Assistant, you’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, helping shoppers connect with our mission. Your store will be a hub where the community meets our team, learns about our work, and supports our cause.
You’ll work alongside passionate colleagues sharing your commitment to beating cancer.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer and supporter service—ensuring every visitor feels valued and informed.
- Driving sales and fundraising targets—playing a critical role in meeting ambitious commercial objectives while supporting charity work.
- Maintaining high store standards—including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance, and health and safety standards.
- Building community relationships—connecting with local supporters and colleagues across Cancer Research UK.
- Supporting fundraising events—helping the store meet its fundraising targets.
- Taking keyholder responsibilities (where applicable)—training provided to take ownership of duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Passion for quality customer service—understanding what makes it exceptional.
- Experience in a busy customer service environment (retail, hospitality, or equivalent).
- Ability to manage workloads independently while collaborating effectively in a team.
- Strong communication skills—clear, empathetic, and professional.
- Flexibility—this role operates on a rota system, accommodating business needs while respecting work-life balance.
